12 - 1 PM | Thursday, June 11, 2020
This seminar will be live via Zoom.

Speaker: Adam Thames, Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips, L.L.P.

Health care providers face mounting obstacles in providing medical care to patients during this pandemic. The complexities of treating COVID-19 coupled with, in some instances, the inability for patients to receive direct medical care for unrelated reasons raise many liability questions for patients and health care providers alike. This seminar will focus on Louisiana laws that may provide civil immunity to health care providers who are accused of medical malpractice arising out of their treatment of patients during the course of this public health emergency. This seminar will also analyze how Louisiana laws stack up to the laws in New York that have garnered so much national media attention and highlight the immunity bills being proposed at the current legislative session.
