The purpose of the Criminal Law Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association is to facilitate great working relationships in the courtroom and to enhance the professional development of local attorneys who practice in the area of criminal law. This section represents the interests of all lawyers who participate in the criminal justice system, including defense attorneys, prosecutors and members of the judiciary. Mark White, from the Balfour Emonet Law Firm, along with Franz N. Borghardt, from Borghardt Law Firm, will serve as 2017-2018 co-chairs of the Criminal Law Section. BRBA members pay an annual membership due of $25.00 to participate in the Criminal Law Section.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

  • Enhance the practice of criminal law for attorneys in the Greater Baton Rouge Area
  • Monitor and comment on relevant legislative and jurisprudent developments
  • Provide CLE seminars relevant to the practice of criminal law
  • Increase social and professional interaction among criminal lawyers
