To All:

This is to advise that the City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge offices will be closing today a 12:30 p.m. due to the threat of impending severe weather conditions for the area.  The East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court is housed in a City-Parish facility.

In view of the fact that East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court is housed in a City-Parish facility, the judges of the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court made the decision at their last En Banc Judges' Meeting held on February 24, 2021, to issue a "standing order" from that date forward as follows:

When the Mayor-President of the City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge, makes a public announcement stating that, "All City-Parish Offices will be closed on a certain date, at a certain time, for an emergency closure," for whatever reason the emergency may be at that time, the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court will follow suit and will also be closed during the same period of time as City-Parish offices and will reopen on the same date, at the same time, as the City-Parish offices pursuant to a Public Announcement by the Mayor-President.

In the future, you must pay close attention to City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge, office closure public announcements via the media, and know the Juvenile Court will also close during the same period of closure, for the same emergency, as the City-Parish Offices.  No further or additional announcements or notifications will be sent to you via email from Juvenile Court.  Simply follow the instructions in the Mayor-Presidents public announcement(s).

Accordingly, East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court will close today at 12:30 p.m.

Sincerely yours,

Donna T. Carter
