Our flagship program, Teen Court, allows students to experience the ins and outs of a trial while serving their peers. Teen volunteers from area schools serve as prosecutors, defense attorneys, bailiffs, and jury members and are responsible for trying misdemeanor cases. The teenaged jury sentences their peers to community service, educational courses, and future terms as a teen court juror. Teen Court is also a great way to earn community service hours.
Information for Parents/Educators
Teen Court provides year-round opportunities for engagement, and our frequent training means that students can join at any time. Teens aged 13 and up are eligible to serve with Teen Court. Interested students must attend a Saturday training before they are eligible to volunteer. Our next training will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026, at the EBR Juvenile Court.
Information for Attorneys/Law Students
Attorneys and law students are needed to serve as judges and jury monitors during hearings. Teen Court hearings are held twice a month on Monday from 6:00-8:00pm. Our summer hearing calendar can be found here.
