The Self Help Resource Center (SHRC) for the East Baton Rouge Family Court serves self-represented litigants with specific Family Court matters (103 divorce, custody, and modifications of child support only) by appointment.
The SHRC is located on the 4th Floor of the 19th Judicial District Courthouse and operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
It is always best to have an attorney to represent you in court, especially as it affects your children and your finances. Walk-ins may be assisted if time permits. Volunteer attorneys and law students assist pro se litigants with court-approved forms and information for filing.
