Baton Rouge Bar Association expects a full house at annual Fall Expo & Conference

Event to be held L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Thursday, Sept. 8 at 10:30 a.m.

 

 

The Baton Rouge Bar Association Fall Expo & Conference kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge. The event includes a tradeshow (Law Expo), 3.5 hours of continuing legal education seminars for attorneys, a sponsored coffee break and the September Bar Luncheon featuring speaker H. Alston Johnson III, who will present a legislative update.

 

Other notable speakers for the event include Judge John W. deGravelles, J. Neale deGravelles and Charles Plattsmier. LSU Law Center Dean Thomas C. "Tom" Galligan Jr. and SU Law Center Chancellor John Pierre will provide a joint presentation. An estimated 150 Baton Rouge lawyers and judges will attend this one-day event.


Conference registrants will have the opportunity to network with judges, attorneys and more than 30 exhibitors. This year's event has a theme of pirates' treasure. Among the featured exhibitors will be Postlethwaite & Netterville (gold); FindLaw and Total Care Injury and Pain Centers (silver); and EATEL Business, Electronic Business Systems, Inc., MAPS, Inc.; and TWRU CPAs & Financial Advisors (bronze). Corporate sponsors are Campus Federal Credit Union and Quality Litigation Support, Inc.


The expo concludes at 3:45 pm, when the final legal seminar begins. Door prizes will available to those attending the event during the sponsored coffee break, which is from 3 to 3:45 pm. Coffee break sponsors are Lewy Physical Therapy and MidSouth Bank.


The BRBA, a professional organization of lawyers and judges, is in its 87th year and has a membership of nearly 2,500. This is the 31st year that it organizes this annual Expo and Luncheon. This year's chairman is William "Bill" Kirtland of Boles Law Firm-Baton Rouge, LLC.
