The Baton Rouge Bar Foundation Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

BATON ROUGE, LA – The Baton Rouge Bar Foundation (BRBF) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Occurring on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

During this season of giving, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the programs of the BRBF.  Your financial support will enable the Bar Foundation to better meet the ever-changing needs of our city and its citizens. Over the past year, your generous donations have allowed the BRBF to:

  • Provide access to civil legal aid to more than 2,600 pro bono litigants, including victims of the August 2016 floods, giving them peace of mind and the opportunity to improve their quality of life
  • Divert first time juvenile offenders to a peer jury trial system and train teen volunteers through our Teen Court program
  • Offer educators and students innovative and interactive ways of bringing civics, free enterprise and law studies to life for more than 1400 students through our Youth Education programs, including Law Day and Mock Trial
  • Award college and law school scholarships to deserving students

Your dollars truly make a difference in our community and allow us to assist more people each year. To make an online donation, click here or you may mail a check to the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation, P. O. Box 2241, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.
